Saddlers Beware of Consumer Regulations

Revised EU Consumer Contract Regulations have made it mandatory that any trader selling an item away from their premises must, by law, give their customer a notice that they have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of receipt of the goods.

There is no opt-out clause, even if your terms and conditions of sale state that you have a no-quibble refund policy.

There is specific wording which must be given to the customer by the saddler and the customer must also be provided with a form to complete should they decide to cancel the contract. There is a clause covering bespoke / made to measure items but the ‘Notice’ must still be given to the customer.
